Hi there! I am a PhD student in the Learning Sciences and Technologies program at the University of Pennsylvania, currently exploring the design of K-12 AI/ML learning experiences with Dr. Yasmin Kafai. My current work investigates how youth engage in the design and evaluation of AI/ML systems and how teachers engage in the participatory design of AI/ML learning activities. More broadly, I am interested in understanding how learners [1] question why things are designed the way they are, [2] investigate for whom these things are designed, and [3] become empowered to participate in their world(s) as designers.
Previously, I have worked in/with various museums as an educator, where I designed and facilitated a collection of STEAM and design workshops, drop-ins, and media for learners of all ages and backgrounds. I have also helped develop and teach graduate courses on educational technologies, learning analytics, digital fabrication and making, learning spaces, and disability studies in design.
I hold a Bachelor of Architecture with minors in Human-Computer Interaction and Design for Learning from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Master of Education in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology from Harvard University.
